A vegetable garden planner that works anywhere — because it times every sowing from what your soil and weather are doing, not from a date written for somebody else’s latitude. Printable A4 pages: soil-temperature sowing triggers, frost and microclimate basics, 22 crop profiles, evidence-graded companion planting, crop rotation, four diagnostic guides and 14 trackers. Instant PDF download, both hemispheres, reprint every season.

October 2026 Edition · priced in GBP — your card converts to your currency automatically at checkout.

30-day money-back guarantee. If the planner isn’t useful to you, contact us within 30 days of purchase and we’ll refund you in full. There’s nothing to send back.

A date means nothing on its own

“Sow in April” is wrong in Sydney, Cape Town, Dublin and Auckland — and different again a hundred kilometres inland. A seed doesn’t know the month; it knows whether the soil around it is warm enough. This planner teaches you to read the six conditions that actually decide planting — soil temperature, last and first frost, night temperature, light and soil moisture — so you can plan correctly wherever you garden.

If you garden in the UK, USA or Canada, the UK, USA and Canada editions add region-specific calendars. Everyone else: this is the one built for you.

What’s inside the global vegetable garden planner

  • Understand your garden: soil texture and structure, reading a soil test, soil temperature vs the calendar (with a sowing-temperature table by crop class), frost and cold tolerance, light and shade, water and irrigation basics, microclimates and growing degree days.
  • 22 crop profiles: temperature class, sun, spacing, germination time, days to maturity and the condition that triggers planting — cross-checked against our UK, USA and Canada editions.
  • Make better decisions: companion planting graded by evidence, crop-rotation principles with intervals by plant family, and diagnostic guides for yellowing leaves, blossom end rot, poor germination and wilting.
  • Plan: layout, raised-bed and container planners, crop rotation, succession sowing, seed inventory and seed-starting schedule, fertilizer, irrigation, budget and season-extension planners.
  • 14 trackers and journals, including a growth and observation journal, so your own records become your local calendar.

How to plan a vegetable garden in any climate

  1. Learn your soil — texture, pH and drainage decide what will thrive and how often you water.
  2. Measure, don’t guess — a simple soil thermometer at 5–8 cm, read in the morning, tells you when each crop class can be sown.
  3. Find your frost window — record your own last and first frost, then count sowings back from them by days to maturity.
  4. Rotate by family — never follow a crop with another from the same family — the one rule that prevents most soil-borne problems.
  5. Keep records — within a season or two your own notes outperform any generic calendar.

Frequently asked questions

Does this work in the southern hemisphere?

Yes — nothing in it depends on the calendar month. Every planting trigger is a soil temperature or an offset from your own frost dates.

Do I need special equipment?

Only a soil thermometer, which is inexpensive. Everything else is observation the planner teaches you to do.

What paper size is it, and can I use it on an iPad?

A4, and it prints on US Letter with “fit to page”. As a standard PDF it also opens in annotation apps such as GoodNotes or Notability.

Is this a physical planner or a digital download?

Digital PDF only. Nothing is posted, so there’s no shipping wait or charge.

Can I print it more than once?

Yes — it is undated, so print any page as often as you like, every season.

Why pay for this if there’s a free Garden Planner tool?

The free tool sketches your plot and works out bed layout and spacing — it stays free. This PDF adds the condition-based timing system, the crop profiles, the diagnostic guides and the trackers, as pages you print and fill in by hand.

What if the planner isn’t right for me?

You’re covered by a 30-day money-back guarantee. Contact us within 30 days of purchase and we’ll refund you in full. There’s nothing to send back.
