Rice bean is a short-day legume of the Himalayan foothills, and Feedipedia lists the conditions it tolerates.

  • A short-lived perennial legume usually grown as an annual, and a fast summer-growing crop found from sea level up to 1,500 m in Assam and 2,000 m in the Himalayan hills. (Feedipedia)
